Telesensory's Ultra Helps Gene Tucker Recapture Passion For Reading
"This thing is a lifesaver. I use my Ultra mostly for pleasure reading, and I would recommend it to anyone, " says Tucker. "I don't want somebody not reading for three years, like I had to go through. "
Gene Tucker, a 73 year old retired mason worker from Eagle, Indiana, has discovered a whole new world in the den of his home on a sprawling two acre ranch. Although he is often out tending to his vegetable garden, his real passion is reading.
But Mr. Tucker was diagnosed with Macular Degeneration nearly six years ago, which brought his love for books to a screeching halt - until he purchased his Ultra video magnifier from Telesensory. I couldn't read anything for over three years, until I got my Ultra. Now I read Our Daily Bread, the Bible, the newspaper - you name it!"
The Ultra has knobs and levers that are easy to use, making reading a snap. "I read the paper almost as fast as I ever did, and I have never been happier," says Tucker. "If you're hesitant about buying, just call me!"
"When I purchased my Ultra in 2000, it was the latest full color unit available," says Tucker. "Reading is so important to me, that I had to have a state-of-the-art video magnifier. To protect my investment, I took out extra insurance on this machine, so I am covered by a 1-year extended warranty for any damage or repair."
"This thing is a lifesaver. I use my Ultra mostly for pleasure reading, and I would recommend it to anyone," says Tucker. "I don't want somebody to go through what I experienced, not being able to read for years at a time."
Tucker has the machine in his den, and uses it at near-full magnification. The Ultra magnifies text on the 17" screen at up to 60x, which makes a big difference to someone with macular degeneration. "There are a lot of windows in here, but I actually like to close the shades because I don't like the glare," he adds. "The sharp contrast is great when I use my Ultra to view photos. I've made it almost 2 years with this thing, and now I'm a pro!"
