Virginia James -- Aladdin Classic User Testimonial
"I lead a very active lifestyle, which I would not be able to do without my Classic," says Virginia James.
Virginia James, a retired nurse from Portland, Maine, purchased her Aladdin Classic in 1997. At 88 years old, Virginia is declared legally blind. Her vision is around 20/200 in each eye. "I like to enjoy my free time as much as possible," says Virginia, "I lead a very active lifestyle, which I would not be able to do without my Classic."
The sharp contrast and adjustable brightness offered by Aladdin allow Virginia to use the black and white video magnifier to go through her mail, write letters and read correspondence from friends out of state. "I would not be able to read these lovely notes and keep in touch without the help of Aladdin Classic." Virginia says the 14" screen and sliding picture controls make the Classic "absolutely wonderful" for reading small articles; something she enjoys doing on a daily basis.
Because the Classic's compact, all-in-one design fits nicely in small spaces, Virginia also uses her Aladdin Classic to read recipes when making her family's favorite molasses cookies. "I usually have them in the house all the time, so my grandchildren and great-grandchildren can enjoy them," says Virginia. "Doing things for loved ones, whether baking or writing letters, is something I enjoy doing as often as I want, thanks to Aladdin Classic."
With magnification up to 50x, Virginia can see in detail like never before. Items that were once obscure or hard to read are now at her fingertips. Virginia is able to view prescription pill bottles quite frequently with Aladdin. "There are so many little things that come up every day, that I would be lost without it."
