Doug Nagel, Owner
Meet Doug Nagel, dealer with a personal touch. Doug Nagel, Telesensory dealer in the Midwest region, possesses a personal sales approach and demeanor that has taken him far in the low vision industry. Beginning his low vision career at VTEK in 1986, Doug's experience and efforts on behalf of the visually impaired in Missouri and the surrounding territories deserves to be recognized.
His low key, yet "focused" approach and personable style has been a trademark throughout his career. An elementary school teacher by trade, Doug knows the importance of making his clients feel at ease. As with teaching students, he regularly "teaches" the visually impaired how to improve their quality of life and regain independence.
Doug strives to keep a "personal" touch alive in his daily interactions with clients. This is especially needed with increasingly competition from the Internet and Mail Order Catalogues. "Holding a client's hand to improve their confidence level," Doug states, fosters trust and ultimately helps the client to feel more comfortable. Returning phone calls promptly, and treating each individual problem with a sense of urgency and respect, his style has proven successful, satisfying, and profitable.
New projects and possibilities are constantly emerging. The Kansas Rehabilitation Services is currently developing a loaner program Telesensory will participate in. Doug continues to provide the low vision community with products and services they can trust.
Growing up in Leoti, Kansas, Doug enjoys a variety of activities, including sports. In the 1960's he umpired for Professional Baseball and was given the honor to participate in the Major League Umpire Development Program. He takes the same "Batter Up" attitude in the field of low vision.
