Partnership With Lions Club
Doug Nagel is a Lions Club member who supports Lionism
throughout our four state area. We offer special pricing to our brother
Lions, who are helping their communities to deal with visual impairments.
This year, both the Lebo Kansas Lions, and the Marshalltown Iowa Lions purchased CCTV's through our special discount program. One blessed a private donee, and the other went to a local library, for the entire community to use.

Ed Goes to School
One of the most difficult places a child has to survive emotionally and functionally, in is school. Here, they are tested not only by the lessons they have to learn, but by all the socio-cultural development, peer pressure, and the day to day challenges that growing up brings. For a child who is visually impaired, many of these pressures double. We not only supply equipment to help restore the student's vision, but we are in the classrooms to educate children, family, and faculty on the lifestyle issues that they all face, and some healthy and productive solutions for issues that arise. We take a compassionate, empathetic, and pro-active approach to dealing with all aspects of the low vision lifestyle. Using our Telesensory Low Vision Demonstrator cards, everyone can see for themselves what it is like to be visually impaired. This fosters understanding, helps to resolve issues about what can be expected from a visually impaired child.
Vision Resource Consultant Ed Golden recently went to visit Liberty Elementary to show the students in the "Challenge Class" what it is like to have an eye disease.
"When we visit the school, we show the kids what it is like to have an eye disease. We also bring equipment to let them see how people can get help with their disease."
Letters from the kids
One student said, "Dear Mr. Golden, Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I like how you shared you equipment."
Another said, "Dear Mr. Golden, Thank you for sharing your knowledge and equipment."
